Post-doctoral Positions

Specific positions are advertised in Nature as they arise, but informal enquiries are always welcome. Further details about specific projects and our publications are given on other pages.

Immediate Vacancies:

Protein Crystallographers

Crystallographers are needed to work on the crystal structures of proteins that are involved in DNA replication and repair. Current areas of interest include topoisomerases, ligases, helicases, and recombinases. Candidates will be expected to have experience in structure determination by MIR or MAD methods, but experience in protein purification would also be an advantage.

Molecular Biologists/Enzymologists

Molecular biologists are needed to clone and overexpress genes which encode replication and repair proteins from a variety of different sources. Once cloned and overexpressed, crystallisation trials and enzymological studies will follow. Enzymologists are needed to study the mechanism of the enzymes that we are studying. Candidates for both areas should have previous experience of cloning and overexpression of proteins, or a knowledge of methods used to study the enzymology of DNA-binding proteins (eg mutagenesis, gel-shift assays). Experience in protein purification would also be an advantage.

Candidates interested in any of these positions should send a detailed CV to
